Andrew (Kumeelyun/Svengalli) is getting a new Mac this week and it will free up the Quad Core w/ 8 gig ram that he's been using of mine.

So, I decided to implement it into my new hardware config so I can run MORE toons!
I am addicted again!

I want to share with you the layout I have planned and will do a video once it's completed.

Let me start with a pic of the config:

I will continue to use my Macbook Pro 17 incher as my main computer but will have a Viewsonic 19 inch LCD attached to it for a dual monitor config.

The Quad Core/8 Gigger will become the secondary machine. It will be attached to the Samsung 2693hm 25.5 inch monitor (1920x1200) as wells as my Samsung 225bw 21 incher (1680x1050). The 128 Key X-Key keyboard will be attached to this computer as well.

The HP S3330f (the current quad-box system) will get attached to the Envision 19 inch (1280x1024). The old xkeys 20 key keyboard will be attached to this computer as well.

The HP S7700n that is used for my mage ports etc will be attached to another Envision 19 inch monitor.

This will work up to my gearing up to see if I can run 9 or 10 chars effectively in WoW.

Basically, the computers will be used for the following:

The Macbook - for my main character and will control the other computers.
The Quad - for the rest of the main group.
The S3330f - for 4 characters from the second group
The S7700n - for a single character for things like mage ports and auction stuff.

I will continue to use:

Synergy http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/ - to use my single keyboard from my Macbook to control all the computers
Keyclone http://www.solidice.com/keyclone/index.html - to send keystrokes to the various clients.
Clonekey http://code.google.com/p/clonekeys/ - same as keyclone but for the mac.

It should be interesting when I complete it.

This is more another prototype. It's been a while since I have actively multi'd. If this works out, I'll get Hergo to set up a custom monitor setup and do it right. :)

Also, Synergy looks interesting even for non-gaming stuffs, gonna have to give that one a try sometime.

Edit: Giving it a try, that website made it totally easy to set it up, and answered any questions I was having. its running like a dream here now, so intuitive! Too bad my desk is a total mess atm, or I'd take a pic :P.

Edit2: /drool at that keyclone setup, love that first setup in the screenshots section. The matrix is more real then we thought...

Hi everyone, this is my first post on that site. i became a member after i watched those uoytube videos with Joe and i thought this is the time for me to finally multibox.
i first had the idea to use separate pcs for each char but once i saw that huge samsung screen running 4 chars from 1 pc smoothly i got excited.
first things first. i am thinking of using that machine for 4 chars and i need your opinion about it

*Windows Vista Premium GR
*G31
*Intel Core2 Quad 9400
*4GB DDR2
*1,28Terra (2x640GB)
*9600GT 512MB

give me an opinion about that machine please, if you think that can take 4 chars. ty

That should do the trick. The 4GB might be a concern. The machine driving the 25 inch samsung at 1920x1200 you saw had 8gb and vista 64 running.

but you CAN run 4 chars fairly smoothly with 4gb, just run limited addons and turn graphics down low depending on how you set things up.
